This is an original 1967 Brabham BT23-5 which was used by the German-Austrian racer, Grand Prix winner and Formula 1 World Champion Jochen Rindt. In 1967 the car established Rindt by nine wins an absolute king of Formula 2. The vehicle is in a completely restored and racing usable condition.
Between 1967 to 1968 a total of only 31 chassis of the BT23-5 were produced - 22 of them for the Formula 2. Between 1964 and 1968 Jochen Rindt has driven the Brabham in private Brabham team of Roy Winkelmann - the most successful Formula 2 team of the sixties. Today only three original cars exist from this series. No other formula car reached in the end of the sixties more wins than the Brabham BT23-5. This was partly not lease because of the extreme driving style and the spectacular use of Jochen Rindt, whereby the Brabham gets in peak form. In 1970 during training for the Italian Grand Prix in Monza Rindt had a deadly accident. His point advantage at this season was enough to be until today the only driver to posthumously Formula 1 World Champion.
