Description: Broadside from the month of Tevet [end of 1927] opposing the 'Chukat HaKehilot' of the British Mandate, which stated that all Jews in Palestine were automatically part of the 'Non-religious and Zionist Jewish National Council, who throw off the yoke of Torah and mitzvos, all Jews of Palestine are subject to their decisions and rules and must pay taxes'. The poster calls for a day of prayer on Sunday, 8th of Tevet, 1927, with shofar blowing at the Western Wall and in all synagogues to annul the decree.Signed by 35 prominent Ashkenaic and 18 prominent Sephardic Rabbis.A few usage marks. Light folds in the tears, blemishing only one word. This poster, in different words, appears in the book 'Mara D'Ara Yisrael' by Menachem Mendel Gerlitz, Jerusalem, 2003, p. 261. [1927], one large leaf. 59 cm. Excellent condition.
