Description: BRUNO, J. Troost-thresoor der verdruckten ofte goddelijcke en menschelijcke vertroostingen tegen de verdruckingen, aldus voorgestelt / bearbeydt ende tot gemeene stichtinge in 't licht gegeven. Alkmaar, Y. v. Houten, 1647. (24), 266, (6) pp. Sm-8°. Cont. vellum. (Uncertain if the prelims are complete (1 quire loose), but there is no other copy (to compare with), weak hinges, inner margin ti-p. stained, slightly browned). No other copy found by us, not in NCC, not in v.d. Haar. This work is written by Johannes Bruno (?-1679), clergyman at Egmond aan Zee, who was the son of Martinus Bruno, and brother of the poets Henricus and Alida Bruno (For them see: NNBW IV, 336-7), they were born at Middelie (Edam). De Bie & Loosjes I, 686 (Henricus Bruno), note: "Deze Martinus had nog een zoon Jacobus, die tegelijk met Hendrik werd ingeschreven te Leiden als col. al. Toen hij ingeschreven werd, was hij 17 jaar. (Van hem kan afkomstig zijn: Troost-tresoor. Alkm. 1647)." Copy with author's autograph comprehensive dedication to his colleague clergyman Johannes Landtman (Monnickendam), dated 17 oct. 1647.
