Description: 6th-7th century AD. A parcel-gilt silver D-section hoop with discoid bezel and panel to the underside; hatched bands to the shank; gilt discoid panel with 'PU' within punched triangles; gilt bezel with intaglio cross above flowers, two flanking figures. See Hadjadj, R. Bagues Merovingiennes - Gaul du Nord, Paris, 2007, item 521 for type. 20 grams, 26mm overall, 18.35mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q, USA 8, Europe 17.59, Japan 17) (1"). From a private collection; formed 1965-1975.

Condition Report: Fine condition. A large wearable size.
