NOTE
The work features the range of the artist's distinctive palette of natural earth pigments from powdery pink, pale violet and deep red, to tones of yellow ochre. The colours appealed to Queenie's sense of beauty, as she herself stated, and in fact she mined the pigments herself. The composition of rows of hills viewed in profile is also characteristic of her work
