Description: 25 March 1792 PARIS. Actions de 90 L. black on blue paper. No 203228-232. Signed by the founder of the savings bank, Joachim Lafarge. The Caisse provided rentes viagères (life rentes) with tontine, to the holders of the actions drawn each year. This is considered to be the first bank share of France. Vignette of men with a cornucopia. Note that this certificate is printed on blue paper, and as such a variety we had not seen before. See also next lots.
