Description: Khmer, 12th century AD. A sandstone carving of the Hindu god Brahma seated on a lotus flower, with four heads, lower hands in lap, upper right holding a chakra, upper left a copy of the Vedas; large scrolling leaves to the side, long stalk to the lotus flower held by a four armed demon brandishing weapons; mounted on a custom-made stand. 14 kg, 48cm including stand (19"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1995.
