A RARE NAZI PERIOD FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL''S DRESS DAGGER,
circa 1937, with double edged 13 1/4in. stiletto blade, the front etched with floral scrolls surrounding a central panel of a fire helmet, ladder and axes, the reverse similar but with a central panel of fire hoses and axes, Carl Eickhorn squirrel trademark at forte, nickel straight cross-guard with trefoil quillions, the center section with a relief carving of a fire helmet and crossed axes, black leather-bound wood grip originally with spiral wire binding, now mostly absent and carved nickel bulbous pommel; COMPLETE WITH its black leather scabbard with nickel fittings and twin suspension loops
