Brussels, BelgiumLive Auction
Description: 28 February 1929 PARIS. Cert. d'Actions P Nominatives de F250. brown, buff. No 924. Generally worn condition with several tears, part repaired with old-style tape. Also a few small holes and heavy folds. Yet, this remains a pretty piece, with views of the open-air coal-mine, the coal-train to the port, and the port of Hongay. The company was very profitable, sometimes paying dividends higher than its share capital. The value of a F250 share reached F10.000, and the company had then a market value of half a billion francs. Almost all the coal was sent to Japan. Although already established in 1896, this is the oldest scripophily we have ever seen from this company.
