Belle lettre sur les nouvelles du temps.
« Vous me trouverés bien impertinent de ne vous avoir pas ecrit. J'ay toujours conté partir pour Bordeaux et vous venir faire moy mesme la reverance. Quelques affaires mont retenu icy. Ce nest point pourtant pour faire usage du manteau rouge. Madame de Cantillon [maîtresse et future femme de Bulkeley] se souvient elle d'un serviteur quelle a icy et plus que serviteur. Vous prenés les eaux de Vichi et moy celles de Spa et elles me font tant de bien que je suis au desespoir de n'avoir pas esté les prendre sur les lieux ». Sur le financier Samuel Bernard (il décédera le 18 janvier 1739 à l'âge de 87 ans des suites d'une douloureuse artérite) : « Bernard qui a declaré 96 ans fait une tres belle deffence contre la mort mais il mourra et avec la meme insolance quil a vecu, les richesses de cet home la se trouvent immenses sil mouroit à Naples Don Carlos ne cedroit jamais la Toscane à lempereur. On dit que nous evacuerons le Cremonois le 19 de ce mois. L'opéra des romans [Les Romans, ballet héroïque de Jean-Baptiste Niel sur un livret de Michel de Bonneval] est asses mauvais et la trajedie de Pharamond [tragédie de Cahusac] tres mauvaise aussi de façon que nous somes tres mal en spectacles. Adieu monsieur continués à mhonorer de votre amitié et croyes que persone ne vous est plus tendrement attaché que moy. [...] Le baron de Schuilembourg a esté surpris la nuit grimpant par la fenetre ches la maitresse du roy d'Angleterre à Hannovre ce qui hatera selon toutes les aparances le retour de ce monarque ».

Contract: Purchased lots will become available only after payment in-full has been made. The sale will be conducted in Euros.

Purchasers will pay in addition to the hammer price, a buyer's premium of 19.23 % VAT excluded or 23 % VAT included (+ internet premium bid 3%).
Payment: By exemption, clause 14 from law from the 10th of July 2000 stipulates: «Should the buyer fail to pay the amount due, and after notice to pay has been given by S.V.V. LE BRECH & ASSOCIES to the buyer without success, the lot is re-offered for sale at the seller's request, under the French procedure known as "procédure de folle enchère"(crazy bid). If the seller does not make this request within two months from the date of the sale, the sale will be automatically cancelled, without prejudice to any damages owed by the defaulting buyer».

If the buyer fails to pay the hammer price and fees, a formal notice will be sent to him buyer by certified mail with acknowledgement of receipt. Unless payment is received within 10 days following the reception of this formal notice, additional fees of 10% on the hammer price, with a minimum of €250, will be applied in order to cover the recovery expenses. Enforcement of this stipulation does not prevent from granting financial damages and at the expense of the procedure that it would require, and does not prejudge a potential crazy bid may be carried out.
