Longue lettre relatant l'incarcération à la Bastille du duc de Fitz-James, fils du maréchal de Berwick. [Charles duc de Fitz-James (1712-1787), futur maréchal de France et neveu de Bulkeley, avait un régiment de cavalerie irlandaise qui portait son nom, dans lequel servait Milord Tyrconnel, dont l'oncle avait été vice-roi d'Irlande ; le duc s'était montré très insultant avec Alexandre, premier commis au ministère de la Guerre.].
« Vous scavés laffaire du duc de Fitsjames qui est à la Bastille depuis avant hier. [...] Alexandre ami de milord Tirconel lui a fait avoir un congé sans que le duc de Fitsjames en scut rien. Le duc alla ches lui et lui demanda sil estoit vray qu'il eut fait donner un congé à milord Tirconel. Il n'est pas surprenant lui dit Alexandre que lon fasse quelque grace à un viceroy d'Irlande et lui tourna le dos. Ce n'est pas ce que je vous demande dit le duc, mais si vous aves donné un congé à M. Tirconel. Cest l'affaire dit Alexandre de Mr d'Angerviliers et non pas la mienne, et lui retourne le dos. Le duc le prit par le bras et lui faisant faire un demi tour lui dit : Quand un home come moy parle à un home come vous (vous remarquerés qu'Alexandre a entendu à un faquin come vous) il doit lui repondre et ne lui pas tourner le dos. Grandes plaintes à Mr d'Angerviliers et à Mr le cardinal [de Fleury]. Le duc mandé à Issy il explique son fait et fort bien. Il reçoit une lettre de cachet qui lenvoye à la Bastille où je le vis hier. Dans le fonds c'est une misere et on croit quil sortira dans deux ou trois jours. On sestone meme quil ne soit deja sorti. La lettre de Mr d'Angerviliers porte qu'on le mette dans la chambre de Mr le duc de Richelieu lequel come vous voyes y a sa chambre marquée. Mr le cardinal a ecrit une lettre fort polie à mad. la marechale [de Berwick] ladessus. Ce quil y avoit dembarassant cest qu'Alexandre juroit qu'il ne rentreroit pas dans son bureau qu'il neu reçu satisfaction. Je croy quil y rentra hier ».
Puis il répond à l'invitation de Bulkeley : « Jaurois bien envie de vous voir en Angleterre je laime encor plus depuis que vous y estes et que mad. de Bulkeley lembelit. Je vous desire et touts ceux qui vous conoissent vous apellent. Je croy que cest le gout de milady Harvey qui a fixé le mien pour Mr le duc [de Bourbon], si pourtant elle le trouve beau je l'avertis que je ne vay pas jusques la. Je suis bien aise que vous ayes vu le chevalier Schaub plus vous le verrés plus vous laimerés. Le custos [Chauvelin, garde des sceaux disgracié] est tellement aneanti que je nay plus pensé à lui ny persone ny ses amis ny ses ennemis. On dit que le marquis avoit fait une aussi belle retraite que nen fit jamais Mr de Staramberg. Il a toujours fait cas de la vertu de la prudence. Gloire au signor Algaroti sil a fait la conquete de Madame de Montaigu. A dieu Monsieur je vous aime et honore de tout mon caeur »...

Payment: By exemption, clause 14 from law from the 10th of July 2000 stipulates: «Should the buyer fail to pay the amount due, and after notice to pay has been given by S.V.V. LE BRECH & ASSOCIES to the buyer without success, the lot is re-offered for sale at the seller's request, under the French procedure known as "procédure de folle enchère"(crazy bid). If the seller does not make this request within two months from the date of the sale, the sale will be automatically cancelled, without prejudice to any damages owed by the defaulting buyer».

If the buyer fails to pay the hammer price and fees, a formal notice will be sent to him buyer by certified mail with acknowledgement of receipt. Unless payment is received within 10 days following the reception of this formal notice, additional fees of 10% on the hammer price, with a minimum of €250, will be applied in order to cover the recovery expenses. Enforcement of this stipulation does not prevent from granting financial damages and at the expense of the procedure that it would require, and does not prejudge a potential crazy bid may be carried out.
