Notes:
The completed ceiling painting by Charles Sims was a present from the President of the Institute of Civil Engineers, Sir John Purser Griffiths, in 1920 and is located in the Great Hall of the ICE's headquarters on One Great George Street. The study shows the figure of renown, wearing a mourning veil and holding out a wreath of bays with the gesture of crowning. It commemorates the part played by members of the Institute of Civil Engineers in World War I.
