Description: Chelseas, Hankow, early 20th century, depicting Chinese entrepreneur Mr. Jeh Li, a Chniese trading partner of Werner G. Smith, clerks, and apprentices, inscribed with names, matted and framed. 13" x 16" (framed). Condition: not examined out of frame. Provenance: From the Estate of Eloise and Waldemar Meckes, Jr.Note: Mr. Jeh Li visited Pierceleigh, the home of Werner G. Smith, and found that daily meditation on Lake Erie was enjoyable. He presented the pair of model junks in this auction to the children as a token of his esteem.
