Description: Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1400 CE. A lovely blackware stirrup spout vessel with a tall slender, gently flaring spout and two abstract head-like forms projecting at opposite ends of the stirrup. The silhouettes of these 'heads' appear to be a minimalist representations of either serpent or perhaps bird heads. An attractive form with a lovely sheen to the blackware finish. Size: 6.5" W x 7.75" H (16.5 cm x 19.7 cm)
