Description: Qing dynasty (1644-1911), a lobed shaped silk cover elegantly embroidered with a couched gold thread dragon coiled around a flaming pearl amidst swirling clouds above a band of turbulent waves, a border of flowers surrounds, backed with yellow silk.
29 x 29 in.
Imperial yellow throne covers of this quality rarely come up for auction, the last similar example being Christie's in 2011.
From the collection of the consignor's mother-in-law, Virginia Steele Scott of Pasadena, CA.

Condition Report: Some separation of metallic gold threads; some staining; paper residue from previous tag and some ink writing on back; some staining to back silk lining.
