Description: Qing, depicting an ornate landscape scene with people in a garden bisected by a flowing river, book-ended by houses, with people boating, reading scrolls, drinking tea, walking, sitting, eating, and catching butterflies, against a stylized cloud- and flowering tree-filled backdrop, the raised framing borders with chrysanthemum and other flowers and leaves, branching trees, and a diaper pattern, the reverse painted with flowers, plants, butterflies, root vegetables, and dragonflies. 35.5" H X 44" W open. Chips and losses to black lacquered areas, many on the edges, 10" vertical crack to central panel from top, losses to built-up carved lacquer of tree trunk.
