Description: Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD. A large block of limestone with arched niche, within central image of Buddha seated in the 'European' style on a throne, large pointed halo behind head, and wearing a crown and long flowing robes down to feet, belted at the waist; hands held forward in blessing; feet resting on two deer with heads looking up to the Buddha; to either side two Bodhisattvas wearing crowns and long flowing robes, pointed halos behind head and standing on lotus flowers. 165 kg, 69.5cm, (27"). From the Cheuk family collection.
