Description: 6th-2nd century BC. A pair of bronze openwork matched buckle plates decorated with a male figure with elaborate bun to the back of the head and wearing long robes, fighting a rearing tiger; rope pattern border. 374 grams total, 12cm (4 3/4"). Property of a London collector; by inheritance from his grandfather; acquired during travels in the Far East in the 1920s.
