1. Hälfte 19. Jh. Panorama-Ansicht einer südchinesischen Kleinstadt am Perlfluß. Öl auf Leinwand. 30 x 41 cm.
Die charmante, etwas naive Ansicht zeigt eine Häuserzeile einer wohl kleineren chinesischen Stadt, die direkt an einen Fluß angrenzt. Verschiedene Dschunken und Ruderboote illustrieren das Leben am Wasser. Die Aufschrift auf dem Portal eines der Gebäude "Canton Hotel" legt nahe, daß sich dieser Ort in der südchinesischen Provinz Guangzhou (oder Kanton) im Delta des Perlflusses befindet.
