Description: first edition , ordinary paper copy (ht: 350mm and gutter 40mm), woodcut device title, list of subscribers, internally very good, contemporary speckled calf, upper cover cleanly detached, some general wear, but overall an attractive unsophisticaed copy, [Atabey 240; Blackmer 340], folio, by W.Bowyer , 1747. Chishull was in Smyrna as chaplain to the Levant Company factory from 1698 to 1702 and this work is published posthumously from his diary, including accounts of his journeys to Ionia, Constantinople, Adrianople and Ephesus.
