Description: Circle of Antonio Rossellino (Italian, 1427-1479) A polychrome stucco relief of the Virgin and Child

15th/16th century

Carved to show the Virgin with gilt halo and in blue and red robes, holding the Christ Child in her left arm.

H: 30 in.



PROVENANCE:

Property of a Pennsylvania gentleman.
Purchased at Sotheby Auction no. 4193, Dec. 8 & 9, 1978, lot 347 catalogued as "in the manner of the della Robbia workshops".
