Description: 1st group: Julius Bien & Co. lithographs from "Civil War Atlas to Accompany Official Records of Union & Confederate Armies", 1891-1895. Plates include "Plate XI. Forts Henry, Tenn., February 6, and Donelson, Tenn., February 12-16, 1861.", Plate XXXV., Middle Tennessee Campaign.", "Plate LXXII., Northern Alabama and Middle Tennessee Campaign.", "Plate LXXIII. Map of a Portion of the Battle-field of Franklin, Tenn.", and "Plate CXXIV. Photographic Views of and Vicinity of Nashville, Tenn.". Also included are the front and back light grey paper covers of "Civil War Atlas" Part 35, title page, preface, and table of contents. "Map of Atlanta" from "The Americana: A Universal Reference Library", published by The Americana Company, 1905 also included. 2nd group: 4 Louis Kinney Harlow (Massachusetts, 1850-1913) chromolithographs of Civil War scenes, circa 1887. From "Army Memories" by L. K. Harlow, published by Koch, Sons, & Co., New York. Three of the lithographs are signed "Louis K. Harlow" in plate, lower right, and signed "Louis K. Harlow" in pencil, left under image, two of the three are signed "G.W. Reed" in plate, lower left. One is unsigned. Each lithograph is mounted on an off white matte decorated with tinted lithographic vignettes. Images approx. - 10 1/8" H x 7 3/8" W. Matted - 19" H x 16" W. Provenance: Estate of James J. Condition Report: 1st group: Lithographs and accompanying pages are unbound and exhibit expected damage including tears, bends, toning, and errant pen/pencil marks. Plate XXXV missing lower left to middle section of lithograph. 2nd group - Images in overall good condition. Two areas of water damage on one of the lithographs, largest 1", top center. Mattes are in overall poor condition.
