Condition Report: WIth minor surface soiling present variously throughout. Craquelure evident in thin horizontal lines running parallel to each other across the painting. This is most evident in the white paint where it is applied the thickest, for example, the cotton in the cart. There are tiny unobtrusive and shollow indentations (no paint loss evident) variously in the sky area, though concentrated in a vertical column that extend from the top into the pink. In the top left hand corner there are areas where the paint is thinnly applied and the board underneath shows through giving it a slightly mottled appearance- for example, to the left of the man's face in a 1 x 1/2 in. area- very unobtrusive.
There is a very fain diagonal scuff, approx 1 in. long in the brown of the cart, only visible under raking light. There is also a 1 inch long line in the middle of the bottom portion of the image beginning in the grass area. This is most likely paint original to the working method though could be a scuff.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid.
