He was elected to the Acad_mie fran_aise on 29 November 1956. His calling card on which he pens 2 unsigned lines. ALS, 1902. Joseph B_dier (1864- 1938) French writer and scholar and historian of medieval France. ALS, 1921. Marcelle Adam - script-writer (including film version of the famous opera by her father Adolphe Adam (1803-1856). She also wrote a famous book CATS [1959]. ALS, 1941. Fr_d_ric Mistral (1830-1914) French writer and lexicographer of the Occitan language. ALS, 1921. Raymond Christoflour (1888-1970) journalist. ALS, 1936. Leonce Larmandie (1851-1921) poet, novelist & playwright. ALS, 191?. Paul Ganne - Paris dramatist. ALS, 1928. Jean d'Esparbes (1899-1968) French painter. Signed postcard. Ambroise-Marie Carre OP (1908-2004) Catholic priest, author and member of the Acad_mie fran_aise. Under the German Occupation, following the capitulation of the French government to the Nazis during the Second World War, Carr_ aided those persecuted by the Vichy government, regardless of their religion or ethnicity; for this, he was awarded the Legion d'honneur and the Croix de guerre.
