1759-1762 Notes Redeemed By The Connecticut Treasury
November 27, 1762-Dated Colonial Era, Manuscript Document, Colonial Connecticut Treasury Receipt, Specifying the Dates of CT Colonial Currency Notes Used to Purchase a Bill of Exchange, Choice Extremely Fine.
Original, 5.75" x 7.5" Connecticut Treasury Receipt, Dr. William Jepson of Hartford, redeemed CT paper money notes of the prior Issues of February, March and May 1759, and March 1762, for a bill of exchange. Docketing and notation on the otherwise blank back details how the payment of interest on these notes was handled. Joseph Talcott Jr. has signed the receipt as clerk of the Treasurer's office. His father was the colonial treasurer at that time. A historic early Connecticut Treasury and Colonial Currency item.
