Description: New York Currency
Gem Uncirculated August 13, 1776 New York $1/16 Note
State of New York. August 13, 1776. One Sixteenth of a Dollar. Gem Crisp Uncirculated.
Fr. NY-198. A beautiful "1776" dated Revolutionary War note that has exceptional sharply printed text and designs on bright, clean crisp period paper which retains significant traces of original press text embossing. The face side is extremely well centered within four large margins and has excellent vivid bold brown signatures of J.V. Voorhis and A. Mesier. The reverse is similarly well printed yet it is somewhat off-center towards the top. Printed by Samuel Loudon, this immaculate example has wonderful eye appeal and originality.
