South Carolina. December 23, 1776. Three Dollars. "Oracle" vignette. Remainder. Hebrew Text Letters. Gem Crisp Uncirculated.
Fr. SC-137. This "1776" dated Revolutionary War issue note is boldly printed on bright fresh crisp period laid paper which retains significant traces of its original press text embossing. The is one vivid brown signature of J. Wakefield and has a couple of natural internal paper wrinkles as made. A lovely, extremely crisp original South Carolina Colonial note with four Hebrew text letters on the central reverse used a both decoration and anti-counterfeiting devices.
