Fr. NH-152. This 1775 Revolutionary War period note is boldly printed with sharp, crisp text and designs on clean laid period paper. Once considered a possible counterfeit type, now considered by experts to be original and genuine. The serial number, signature of Nicholas Gilman are in deep red ink as Receiver General and it is also signed by Samuel Hobart in brown at the lower left. The blank reverse near perfectly clean being free of typical notations or other signatures having one thin strip of reinforcement paper along the vertical centerfold. Its full border designs are present, as are all margins. Only 3,600 notes printed, recalled into the Treasury by 1777.
