This revolver was manufactured in 1874 (the second year of production) as a cartridge revolver. Round barrel marked with the one line Colt New York address and two British proofs on the left side. The loading lever has been removed with the hole filled and an ejector rod (concentric ring "target pattern" head) with housing added to the right side. "COLTS / PATENT" is marked on the left side of the frame , "36 CAL" on the left trigger guard shoulder and unique and very interesting "C" with a Rampant Colt on the right trigger guard shoulder. Stagecoach holdup scene roll engraved rebated cylinder has alternating British proofs and has been cut, with a breech plate, loading gate (4982) and center fire hammer firing pin added. Matching serial number on the cylinder, barrel, frame, brass trigger guard and brass backstrap.
