Description: Continental Painted and Parcel Gilt Armchair
Probably Italian, first half of the 18th century
The Fortuny upholstered backrest with arched cresting above an overupholstered serpentine seat flanked by padded arm rests on voluted supports, the shaped front apron and sides raised on cabriole legs ending in hoofed feet.

Condition Report: With previous restorations, and later painted and gilt decoration, losses to decoration, old marks and scratches, rubbing, corner blocks to backs and front legs later, cross stretcher later, rubbing to gilding of handholds
