Folio, contemporary 1/2 calf over marbled boards, leather suffering dry rot, front cover detached; maps and plates with moderate marginal foxing and surface soiling, few plates dampstained, but with strong impressions. sold as is. Notes: With large folding chart of the Southern Hemisphere; plates mostly after William Hodges unveil scenery, botanical specimens, indigenous utensils and native manners of the islands visited by Cook on his 2nd voyage throughout the South Pacific Ocean aboard the H.M.S. Resolution.
