Description: 5 Nivôse an 7 59 NORD. DUNKERQUE. Action de 1000 Fr. black. This share is dated according to the French Revolutionary Calendar and can be converted as 25 December 1798. The corsair "Sans-Peur" (=without fear) had 6 cannons and 28 men on board. Its captain as Pierre Mory. Not the biggest of privateer ships, yet records show it captured the Danish ship 'Ouvet Valh' on one of his voyages. The ship remained in 'military' service until April 1799 and then converted into a commercial vessel. Only this one share is known to us. Rarity 12.
