Description: (CURTIS, EDWARD S.) (1868-1952)
"Gray Dawn, Cheyenne." Cyanotype, 5 3/4x7 7/8 inches (14.6x20 cm.), with Curtis's notations, "Gray Dawn--Cheyenne," "S. indicate footnote," and "Sun shows plainly in negative," in ink (the last crossed out), and a numeric notation, in pencil, in an unknown hand, on verso. 1906

Notes: An extremely rare photograph, in which Native figures are waiting to have their photograph taken; and possibly the only known image of Curtis's field tent.
