The Ducati 900 MHR offered here is in a very good condition. It is from the first series featuring a kick starter. The motorcycle has French papers and the original manual. The lot also comprises two different fairing sets.

After the British motorcycle- and car racing driver Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood – better known as Mike Hailwood – had won the Tourist Trophy in 1978, Ducati decided to celebrate this victory with a motorcycle they dedicated to him: The Ducati 900 Mike Hailwood Replica (short: MHR). The nine time world champion had actually already finished his racing career, but the victory over his rival Phil Read on the Isle of White made him a legend and earned Ducati a true revival. As advancement of the model 900 Super Sport, the bike has a 4-stroke two-cylinder in V-90° arrangement which reached a performance of 72 hp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 8.5 kg at 5800 rpm. It was able to reach a maximum speed of 220 km/h. The desmodoric valve control has an overhead camshaft driven by an upright shaft. Around 7179 units of the majestic motorcycle were built between 1979 and 1986, most of them were exported to England. The impressive Ducati 900 MHR was the last Ducati with an upright shaft.
