Description: DUTCH SCHOOL
(17th century)
PEASANTS SMOKING IN A TAVERN
Bears initials ''D.T.'' bottom right (on chair), oil on cradled panel
12 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. (32.4 x 40cm)
provenance:
Private Collection, Washington, DC.

Condition Report: Bears Teniers signature. Painting is somewhat difficult to accurately 'read' under u.v. light due to pigments used and varnish; there may be some possible areas of restoration in parts of the background; the figures appear to be unrestored. Frame: 19 x 22 1/4 x 2 in.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid. All transactions are governed by Freeman's Conditions of Sale.
