Condition/Details: Bound in full leather with bright gilt embossing, this antique folio volume is a scarce autographed first edition of this classic work on hunting by Dwight W. Huntington. The work is profusely illustrated with in-text illustrations, photographic plates and two of its original tissue-guarded color-gravures. Author-illustrator Huntington's has signed his name in pencil under "Ruffed Grouse Shooting." His signature also appears on sheet that once contained his "Partridge-Shooting on the Snow." "Ptarmigan Shooting" is the only other plate that remains from original collection. The volume lacks spine cover. Both boards are detached. Text block is intact, with staining along top edges. The book measures approximately 12 1/2" x 16" and contains 128 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
