Howard & Co., Boston, has black Roman hour numerals, 3.5 in. sub seconds dial and original diamond pierced blued hands. Quality brass 8 day weight driven time only movement with Hezekiah Conants gravity escapement patented 1891, has 2 quality brass covered side weights with solid brass pulleys, maintaining power, Geneva stops, turned wood pendulum stick with silvered damascened bob and silvered beat indicator; movement signed E. Howard & Co., Boston and top edge of the plates stamped with number 1. In an oak floor standing case with spindled gallery top, chamfered corners with scrolled leaf and hanging bell flower carvings, carved filigree corner corbels around the dial and inset panels in the base. Case has a cleaned and enhanced original finish, nice condition, dial has some paint loss, the movement is running. 90 in. high x 28 in. wide x 13.5 in. deep.
