Early 19th Century Duck Decoy
This decoy has traces of the original green & white paint. The eyes are copper pins. This decoy is in three sections: two parts on the body and one on the head. The beak is very nicely carved as well as the "graduated" wood back that simulates the ducks back. On the underside are copper nails and hand made nails. There is remains of black paint and a pull hook. This is a great decoy and a wonderful piece of American Folk Art. We are estimating that this was made in the mid 19th century or earlier.
