Description: This is an Early Tibetan Bhutanese Bhutan Dagger with Sheath. This dagger measures approximately 13.75”. The sheath is in good condition with average wear and dings in the metal, inside wood is still intact. The handle of the dagger is very ornate and has a wrapped wire grip. The blade is folded metal and shows signs of hammering towards the tip with the very fine point of the time missing. Bhutan is home of two main types of knives, the dozum and the patag. The patag can be short to sword length, and is characterized by having a blade with an angled chisel point. The dozum is a short dagger with a blade that gradually narrows to an acute point. Ornate patag of sword length where customarily worn by the aristocracy and senior government officials.
