Lot 2: EGON ADLER | Still Life with Apples
November 30, 2016
London, United KingdomLive Auction
Description: oil on canvas
The canvas has not been lined. There are four visible small pinholes at the four corners of the composition. There are light stretcher marks along the four edges, and some scattered drying craquelure, notably where the impasto is thicker. There is one small spot of flaking in the purple towards the upper centre of the composition and what appears to be a very old spot of paint loss in the thick impasto of the apple to the centre. However, this is not too distracting and appears to be stable. This work is otherwise in good condition and in ready to hang. Presented in a gilt frame.
