Description: An Egyptian blue faience scaraboid in the form of a duck, New Kingdom, c. 1570 1075 BC, the body nicely detail showing feathers in relief, the head turned back over the body in classic Near Eastern style. On the base is a cartouche containing an Ankh and a Red Crown between neb' signs. 11.5 x 8mm. Holed lengthwise for suspension. Ex Hamdy Sakr collection; previously in the private collection of Alex Anckonie III, acquired during his time in the Navy in the 1960's - 1970's.
