Description: An Egyptian Pre-Dynastic Serpentine Mace-Head, ca 3500-3200 BC,the heavy spherical form pierced longitudinally for attachment to a wooden shaft, the exterior polished to a smooth finish.A mace is a basic hand-held weapon, half-way between a club and a hammer.
