Description: Elegie sur la ialousie des culs de la cour. N.pl., n.publ., 1649, (7)p., 19th cent. gilt hmor. by LORTIC. - Foxed/ sl. browned. Binding rubbed/ sl. worn along extremities. = Interesting separately published third part of La Guerre des Tabourets, one of the numerous pamphlets and satires written against cardinal Mazarin and his mistress Anne of Austria (Louis XIII's widow). It is said that this libel has a homosexual connotation; considering the abundant occurrence of ambiguous allusions to 'culs' (asses) and 'fesses' (buttocks) this might well be true. Gay/ Lemonnyer III, p.89.
