Lot 143: Elvis Presley Souvenir Scarf in Framed Display - Emanating Directly from Graceland
October 29, 2016
Memphis, TN, USALive Auction
During his 1970s concert tours, Elvis was known for not only his glittering bold jumpsuits but also for the scarves he would regularly wear with his costume and frequently toss into the audience. He became known for this gesture and fans clamored to be tossed such a treasure that touched the King. Special souvenir scarves were sold directly to members of the Elvis Presley Enterprises affinity club, The Official Elvis Collectors Club, which was a precursor to the current Graceland Insiders fan group, an example of which is this white souvenir scarf with blue printed Elvis Presley signature, which is framed in a delightful display. The display includes two images of Elvis donning a white scarf around his neck and a certificate of authenticity stating that the white concert scarf is an original artifact directly from the archives of the estate of Elvis Presley at Graceland. Fortunately, this amazing example never left Graceland during the King's lifetime. This very attractive framed display, highlighting the importance of this example, measures 19 by 25 inches (48.26 x 63.5 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
Condition Report: The scarf and display are in Near Mint condition overall.
