Description: SERIAL #: None DESIGN: Percussion musket single shot converted to a breech loader with Robert's breech loading conversion. 30-1/2" round barrel. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Blued metal barrel. Full length military straight stock with low comb. FEATURES: Blade/post front sight. Rear folding military sight. Two barrel bands. Bayonet lug at right front of barrel. Lock plate marked "BARNETT / LONDON". Left side of breech block stamped "ROBERT'S PAT. / JUNE 11 1867". Inspector's cartouche on left side of stock above trigger guard. Forward of this is stamped with the number "5178". The number "865" is stamped upside down behind the lock plate. Brass trigger guard with sling swivel at the front. Brass butt plate. Ramrod is absent. CONDITION: Good. Moderate loss of surface finish with numerous spots of pitting across metal surfaces. Brass is moderately discolored. Stock shows numerous scrapes, gouges, and dents. Spotty white paint to stock. INVENTORY NO. / CATEGORY: 4819/ANT ESTIMATE: $500 - $700
