Description: ENGLAND FOOTBALL: A page removed from an autograph album individually signed by each member of the England football team who played Scotland at Hampden Park, 14th April 1956, comprising Reg Matthews, Jeff Hall, Roger Byrne, Jimmy Dickinson, Billy Wright, Duncan Edwards, Tom Finney, Tommy Taylor, Nat Lofthouse, Johnny Haynes, Bill Perry. Also bearing one other unidentified signature. Together with a 4to printed programme for the match, signed to the cover in bold black ink by Nat Lofthouse. The album page neatly annotated and dated by a collector at the head. One corner crease, not affecting the signatures, otherwise VG, 2
Notes: The album page features the scarce signatures of the Manchester United 'Busby Babes' Edwards, Byrne and Taylor, but also features the rare signature of Jeff Hall (1929-1959) who tragically died at the age of 29 from polio. Hall's death helped to kick-start widespread public acceptance in Great Britain of the need for vaccination against polio.
