Description: Artist: NANCY SMITH Size: 24 3/8 x 39 1/4 in./62 x 100 cm Vincent Brooks Day & Son, London Epping Forest, on the border between London and Essex, is an ancient woodland. Once the exclusive hunting grounds of the Tudor royal family, it was bequeathed to the Commons by Queen Victoria. Here, Smith draws from classic Japanese woodcuts for this particularly enchanting composition promoting London's transit options to and from the area. She created several fine posters for the London Underground from 1915 to 1922.
