Description: Evans of Handsworth Detent Fusee Skeleton. 19th Century English Fusee Skeleton Clock by Evans of Handsworth. Has a 6.5 in. silvered chapter ring with incised black Roman hour numerals on shield-shaped tabs, 2.5 in. silvered sub seconds bit at 6 o'clcok and black spade hands. Single fusee movement with maintaining power, good fusee chain, heavy brass pendulum and Pivoted Detent escapement at the back. Fancy pierced brass plates with leafy swirling designs, signed by the retailer Henry Bright of Leamington. On an oval veneered rosewood base with round feet and good glass dome. In very good condition with no breaks or damages, fusee chain is clean and plates have a nice clean polished surface, no breaks or losses to the dome. Dimensions, with dome: in. high x 12.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.
