Estimate: $2500 - 4250
This U.S. Model 1885 Winder Musket is a late production example manufactured after 1913. It has a raised blade front sight and Lyman receiver sight with the two line address patent marking and "22 SHORT" stamped on the left side of the barrel. The Winchester proof is present on the barrel and receiver. The upper tang has the three line Winchester trademark information and there is "US" above an ordnance bomb stamped behind the hammer. Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock with finger groove forearm, sling swivels, single barrel band and crescent buttplate.

Condition: Excellent plus. The rifle retains 98% plus original blue finish with bright case colors on the breech block. The wood is also excellent with a few minor handling marks with sharp edges. Mechanically excellent. This is possibly the finest U.S. marked Winchester Model 1885 Winder Musket that we have ever offered!
