Description: FERN ISABEL COPPEDGE
(american 1883-1951)
BRIDGE IN WINTER
Signed ''Fern I. Coppedge'' bottom left, oil on canvas
18 x 20 in. (45.7 x 50.8cm)
provenance:
Private Collection, New Jersey.

Condition Report: The unlined canvas in eoc apart from a damaged area, as seen in catalogue and online photographs, approx. 5 inches long at lower right in river. It would appear that at some point the canvas was damaged from behind, and is now protruding outward in this area. In this approx. 5 inch long area, the canvas is partially torn, has broken canvas fibers with subsequent paint losses - at the damaged linear area/tear, above it, and mostly below it. The outer right portion of the linear damaged area is where the canvas is completely torn; it is partially torn/almost torn in most of the 5 inch line of damage. In our opinion, as there is no actual missing sections of canvas, the painting can be professionally restored from the verso and the losses of paint can be repainted.
Frame: 22 1/4 x 24 1/4 x 1 3/4 in.
